Tungsten is derived from the swedish word Tung Sten whihc which translates into English as "heavy stone". This is an accurate description as tungsten is one of the heaviest metals around.
While being one of the heaviest it is also one of the hardest metals that are found in nature and is highly corrosion resistant which means it is ideal to be used in wedding rings.
