Lab grown diamonds are grown from small carbon diamond seed and the using sophisticated technology by two methods. This is either extreme pressure and heat or a deposition process known as CVD that simulates the method of natural diamond formation. Some lab diamonds grown through deposition may also undergo pressure and heat treatment after they are grown.

Lab created diamonds display the same physical, chemical, and optical characteristics as natural mined diamonds, along with the same scintillation, and sparkle. They are real diamonds. Lab created diamonds are almost impossible to differentiate from natural diamonds with the naked eye. Black Zirconium had a good level of scratch resistance, but like all metals can still scratch. Black zirconium gets it's colour through the heating and oxidation process which means it is black on the outside, silver on the inside. It is important to allows ensure you protect you ring when undertaking activities that can expose it to high amounts of impact as scratches will reveal the silver colour underneath.

TUNGSTEN CARBIDE

Tungsten carbide is an extremely strong and hard material that is popular as a wedding ring. Tungsten carbide is roughly ten times harder than gold and is therefore an extremely durable material of choice. Highly resistant to scratching, tungsten rings retain their perfectly polished appearance.
Tungsten carbide rings are heavier and thicker than gold, titanium and black zirconium rings so keep that in mind when looking for your ring.

While tungsten is extremely tough and considered almost indestructible, it can also be brittle, meaning it can crack if dropped on a hard surface like concrete or tile at the wrong angle. Please click here for details of our ring quality guarantee to give you peace of mind should this occur.

Our two tone tungsten rings come with high quality plating. This plating however will fade over time to the original grey silver metal so please take this into consideration when selecting your ring.
